Does lochia kind of have a rotting smell?

hi i just had my first baby so i have no idea about after labor. Who knew it was way more serious than i thought. After giving labor you get the lochia. Did you ever know if it had a faint rotting smell to it or some kind of smell...not too strong but you can def get a whiff of it. its disgusting. any advice is helpful thanks
