Is is possible for a Christian girl and guy, who see each other as siblings/family, to be roommates?
A friend of mine who has been living with his roommate, a girl, for the past 2 and a half years needs to move. His roommate is getting married. I, a friend from the same church, was living on my own, but barely affording it. So I asked if he would consider me as a roommate. To which he replied, "really?! I didn't want to ask you because I thought you would turn me down!” So we decided to be roommates. He is like a brother to me and I am in no way attracted to him and vice versa. However I have been told that this "living as roommates" would be seen as wrong. The "appearance of evil." I would just like some input. We’re three years apart in age. For various reasons we cannot live with our families. We make enough money to live hand to mouth on our own, but would like to pay off some debt and start saving for the future. We both attend church each Sunday. I am on staff at my church and we are both involved with different ministries within our church. We have the same circle of friends. Who would kick us hard if they ever suspected a whiff of something between the two of us as we were considering this accommodation option! Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Christians and non-Christians alike! Thanks!
